The installation of the new Veeco Propel 8" MOCVD reactor begins today, with crates being unloaded and unpacked. The reactor is to join our Aixtron 6" reactor that is also being installed at the Department of Materials, after being temporarily housed in the Physics of Medicine. The new Veeco Propel reactor will allow us to expand our work on GaN-based power electronics and scale our current devices to 8" substrates. The main reactor vessel is currently being plumbed in.
